Eagle Rock Elementary Education Foundation

Who We Are

Our foundation is basically a group of determined parent and teacher volunteers who are fighting to make sure the kids at our school get the educational opportunities they deserve.

Highlights of Our Accomplishments

  • achieved major improvements to the play yard, including having a brand new play structure installed
  • purchased a much needed photo copier used by the entire school
  • provided a fitness program to bring physical education to our campus
  • supported the California Dance Institute’s program for all our fourth graders
  • improved classroom technology

Our Goals

We have set our sights on creating a new high-tech library with a reading garden.  We aim to bring our classrooms up to date with proper educational tools and technology; the teachers have specifically requested a document reader and a working computer in every classroom. We’ll continue working to fund these projects and whatever other needs our school may face, especially in the face of severe budget cuts.

Who We Serve

Eagle Rock Elementary School, part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, educates over 1000 children, nearly two thirds of whom are members of low income families. The kids are diverse in every imaginable way including ethnically, linguistically and economically. Some students are classified as highly gifted; others have significant special needs. We’re proud that by working together the students and teachers have achieved the special designation of being a Blue Ribbon School and an “API” of 841.

How We Work

Our foundation is fortunate to be a project of Community Partners, which is an incubator that helps nourish young nonprofits. They give us our nonprofit status as a registered 501(c)3 organization, with the tax id number 95-4302067.
